Tennis team is ready for District tourney action

The Weiser Wolverine tennis team played a conference match against Fruitland on April 29.
 The number one and number two girls’ singles players dominated the court. Emma Tolman defeated her opponent taking the win 6-0, 6-0. Kristy Bake added another win taking the match 6-2, 6-0.
 The number two boys’ doubles team of Mason Davis and Brylee Williams went three sets for the win. They took the first set 6-3, lost the second 1-6 and defeated their Fruitland opponent 6-3 to take the match.
 Fruitland took the conference win 9 to 3.
 Girls’ singles: No. 1 - Will McComb, Fruitland defeated Moses Hernandez, Weiser, 6-1, 6-2; No. 2 - Aidan Huhtala, Fruitland defeated Johnny Stuart, Weiser, 6-1, 6-3; No. 3 - Andrew Jensen, Fruitland defeated Elias Anderson, Weiser, 6-1, 6-0.
 Boys’ singles: No. 1 - Emma Tolman, Weiser defeated Audrey Saba, Fruitland, 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 - Kristy Bake, Weiser defeated Janice Roundy, Fruitland, 6-2 , 6-0; No. 3 - Grace Davis, Fruitland defeated McKenna Manser, Weiser, 6-2, 7-6 (4).
 Boys’ doubles: No. 1 - Miles Davis and Alex Hanigan, Fruitland defeated Ethan Davis and Charlie Woods, Weiser, 7-5, 2-6, 6-1; No. 2 - Mason Davis and Brylee Williams, Weiser defeated Jeffrey Swann and Micah Woods, Fruitland, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
 Girls’ doubles: No. 1 - Ellie Baker and Kennedy Phillips, Fruitland defeated Kendall Rynearson and Alexandra Froshiesar, Weiser, 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 - Morgan Bruton and Halle Drollinger, Fruitland defeated Bailey Coleman and Britynn Seward, Weiser, 7-5, 4-6 , 6-3.
 Mixed doubles: No. 1 - Sawyer Craig and Kade Farmer, Fruitland defeated Denica McClellan and Huntyr McClellan, Weiser, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3; No. 2 - Grace Huff and Trey Buster, Fruitland defeated Libbie Rynearson, Weiser - Mason Brush, Weiser, 6-0 , 6-1.
Weiser vs. Columbia
 Weiser’s tennis team took on Columbia High School last week and ended the day with an 8-4 loss.
The doubles teams played strong and the number one girls’ doubles team of Emma Tolman and Kristy Bake took the win 6-5, 7-5. Both Weiser boys’ doubles team recorded wins.
 The number one boys’ doubles team of Ethan Davis and Charlie Woods had a close match against Columbia but were able to take the win 6-3, 7-6 (4).
 The number two boys’ doubles team of Mason Davis and Brylee Williams went to three sets. They lost their first set 4-6 and came back and won the match with set wins of 6-3, 6-4.
 Kendall Rynearson played in the number one girls’ singles spot and took an easy win 6-3, 6-0.
 Girls’ singles: No. 1 - Kendall Rynearson, Weiser defeated Tacy Bledsoe, Columbia, 6-3, 6-0; No. 2 - Naomi Montelongo, Columbia defeated Britynn Seward, Weiser, 6-2, 6-4; No. 3 - Gio Almanza, Columbia defeated Alexandra Cozad, Weiser, 6-1, 6-0.
 Boys’ doubles: No. 1 - Rudy Earnst, Columbia defeated Johnny Stuart, Weiser, 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 - William Kartchner, Columbia defeated Elias Anderson, Weiser, 6-3, 6-2; No. 3 - Teo Cano, Columbia defeated Eli Woods, Weiser, 6-1, 6-1.
 Girls’ doubles: No. 1 - Emma Tolman and Kristy Bake, Weiser defeated Sanaly Nava and Esmeralda Flores, Columbia, 6-2, 7-5; No. 2 - Carlie Young and Katrina Colby, Columbia defeated Brooklynn Jensen and Paloma Almanza, Weiser, 6-4, 6-1.
 Boys’ doubles: No. 1 - Ethan Davis and Charlie Woods, Weiser defeated Scott Baker and Camden Merrick, Columbia, 6-3, 7-6 (4); No. 2 - Mason Davis and Brylee Williams, Weiser defeated Billy Hoffert and JC Ho, Columbia, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
 Mixed doubles: No. 1 - Grace Davis and Colton Myers, Columbia defeated Huntyr McClellan and Denica McClellan, Weiser, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3; No. 2 - Natalie Oedewaldt and William Joseph, Columbia defeated Moses Hernandez and Libbie Rynearson, Weiser, 6-2, 6-2.
 “Emma and Kristy were on fire getting to play girls doubles for the first time this season,” said Weiser Head Coach Angie Soulen. “They played a great pair from Columbia and it was super fun to watch both Weiser girls pull out all the tools they’ve learned over the years and dominate the match.
 “Kendall Rynearson played singles for the first time ever and really displayed her athletic ability and coachability, she’s always open to suggestions that help her get better.”
