Legends on Main is under new ownership

Travis and Leslie Cone have purchased the restaurant along with the help of Leslie’s parents, Norm and Judi McLeod.
Restaurant ownership has been a long time dream for Travis Cone, so when Leslie started working at Legends a couple days a week, she mentioned to then owner, Carlos Ribera, that if he ever was willing to sell the restaurant, they might be interested.
Once the timing was right, the sale went through smoothly and quickly.
Leslie worked at Mann’s Creek store for a few years prior to working at Legends and Travis has always loved to cook, so although they have limited restaurant experience, they are excited to bring their passions to the business.
Since Ribera did a wonderful job for many years establishing the business in Weiser, customers won’t see big changes right away, but little changes will happen over time as they find out what customers want.
For the menu, they will keep the favorites that customers are familiar with, but will also run different lunch specials to see what new favorites should be permanently added to the menu.
They will also add a few items to the kids menu and deep fried mushrooms to the appetizer menu.
For the atmosphere, they have added a fresh coat of paint, and will be creating a more traditional seating area and storage in the back room to clean and streamline the look. For each of the changes they are working on small things in baby steps, with the idea that it will make a big difference over time.
The Cones shared that the community has been amazing and overwhelming with their support so far. The initial business has been double what they expected.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have an amazing staff. There’s been lots of compliments to the cook,” McLeod said.
The Cones and McLeods want Legends on Main to be a family environment for both customers and employees
The Cones and the McLeods are both established in the community and know the community well, so they have received a lot of feedback from customers who were happy the restaurant would stay locally owned.
The community spirit is important to the Cones and they hope to continue the tradition of giving back to the community that Legends has been known for.
One thing the Cones hope to do soon is support the community and local athletes with their athlete of the month program.
Ribera had previously thought about doing something similar, and the Cones would like to move forward with the idea right away to highlight the schools and reward the hard work and effort of local student athletes.
