Jeep club plans for fun and adventure in the great outdoors

Clubs of all different shapes and sizes can be made to celebrate a common interest, develop fellowship, and hone skills based on a collective group of people’s needs and wishes.
A Jeep club has been recently started up in the Weiser area, and Jeep owner Karl Gresehover is excited to share his passion for adventuring in the vehicle.
A retired carpenter, Gresehover belonged to a Jeep club for eight years before moving to Idaho. Being in a Jeep club provided a community of likeminded people, he said, that found solidarity in joining each other on rides.
Jeep clubs consist of individuals with Jeeps that join each other on day or night runs, off-roading and exploring the beautiful area around them.
During a day run, club members may stop for a picnic and always work to be good stewards of the land. During a night run, Jeep club members may enjoy fellowship around a campfire together. The Weiser Jeep Club is designed to be family friendly and fun, with children invited to join day runs, said Gresehover.

“It’s to share an experience with other people,” said Gresehover. “It’s family fun, rated ‘G,’ and safety first. Safety is the most important thing.”
Still in its infancy, the Weiser Jeep Club began when Gresehover took note of friends and community members in the area that owned Jeeps, with friends also indicating their interest in trying out Jeep runs. Jeep owners themselves tend to be likeminded individuals, he said, taking careful care of the vehicle while testing its limits, as well as possessing a great appreciation for the outdoors. In his eight years in a Jeep club, Gresehover said he experienced some of the most beautiful terrain in the United States and was allowed his own opportunity to test the limits of his Jeep and could then make improvements on the vehicle as he saw fit for the next run.
“There’s a sense of adventure there. There’s so much to see in Idaho,” said Gresehover. “You always leave the place better than when you found it.”
While runs can consist of daring and challenging trails, the Weiser Jeep Club will likely begin its first few runs with milder but still breathtaking trails, Gresehover suggesting focusing on the Owyhees with tolerable weather. The club is preparing to arrange monthly meetings, likely at local restaurants, where upcoming runs will be arranged along with other business. Community members interested in joining the club or learning more are invited to call Karl Gresehover at 208-550-9994.
“It’s new, we’ll see where it goes,” said Gresehover. “[Let’s] see this beautiful land.”
