The Weiser Valley Highway District is holding a special meeting to discuss its annual budget on Monday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at its office located at 998 Olds Ferry Road, west of Weiser.
Little has changed in the district’s fiscal budget, which runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
Capital outlay, which represents costs associated with vehicles, equipment, property and buildings, however, has increase from $100,000 in fiscal year 2020-21, to $120,000 for 2021-22.
The increase reflects needed repairs and upgrades on Weiser Valley Highway District’s equipment, according to District Board Chairman Bruce Winegar.
“We are going to do some work on a backhoe, a couple of dump trucks, and on some hydraulic systems,” he said. “We are also going to upgrade the hydraulics on one of our plow trucks, so we have live hydraulics, so we don’t have to stop and put it in gear.”
Taxpayers are welcome to attend the Aug. 9 special meeting and comment on the budget.
