September was a slow month. However, the activities at the center kept plugging along. It’s a wonderful place to go for eating and visiting and just getting out of the house!
Turnout for the late summer dance and potluck, held on Sept. 8, was a bit low, but all managed to have a great time with great music and food. We had dancers from 4 (so cute) to 93 years old.
A memorial was held on Thursday, Sept. 13, for Rex Cox and again on Friday, Sept. 14, for Gene Eshelman.
The foot clinic was held on Sept. 12. It will be held again on Oct. 10. It is held on the second Wednesday of each month.
The Gem State Fiddlers play for us on the first Wednesday of every month and again at our breakfast on Oct. 20. Breakfast will be held every third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
Gem State Fiddlers have jam sessions on the second and third Thursday evenings of each month, here at the center. They invite the public to come and play, dance or listen from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A flu clinic will be held here at the center on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The October harvest dance and potluck will be held on Oct. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. Come and dance with us. All ages wanted, and we could sure use some more men dancers too, LOL. There are a lot of good-looking ladies to dance with.
Charles H. Daniels, naval E-4 boatswain, will be honored at the Quilt of Valor presentation on Friday, Oct. 28. He served from April of 1952 to February of 1956.
Remember, we have breakfast on Oct. 20. Bingo is every Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Pinochle every Thursday at 1 p.m. Also, there are two pool tables for playing every day.
Here’s wishing you all a wonderful and productive month.
