Boys and girls track teams place second at Payette Invite

Weiser varsity boys and girls track teams did well at a meet held in Payette on April 13. Both Weiser girls and boys took second place in a field of 12 teams.
 The boys scored 127 points behind Fruitland with 156.5 points and Liberty Charter School came in third with 89 points. The girls earned their second place with 82 points to follow Parma’s 85 points with Fruitland earning 73 points to take third.
 Weiser varsity boys had two top 10 finishers in the 200 meters. Brayden Walker placed second with a personal best time of 24.44 seconds. Chris Cornejo took tenth with a time of 25.64 seconds, which was a personal best for him
 Sophomore Brayden Walker placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.90.
 Maddox Stevens posted a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.39 seconds giving him second place.
 Weiser boys took the top two spots in the 300-meter hurdles with Brayden Walker in first (42.55) and Nick Swank in second (43.82).
 Weiser took second place in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:39.15. Running the 4x200 was Colton Foster, Brian Munoz, Chris Cornejo, and Michael Youngberg.
 The team of Colton Foster, Brian Munoz, Michael Youngberg, and Brayden Walker came in second place for the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:43.13.
 Weiser was second in the sprint medley relay with a time of 4:15.46. Mason Grimaldo, Levi Swank, Kasey Kautz and Edgar Lazaro ran the relay for Weiser.
 Eve Sanches came in third with 38 feet 7.5 inches in the boys’ shot put. Nick Swank finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet 6 inches.
 In pole vault, first place went to Sam Ellingson at 12 feet 7 inches, second was Gabriel Rasmussen with a height of 10 feet 6 inches, Logan Rasmussen was part of a three way tie for fourth at 9 feet.
 Jordan Watkins took second in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet 4.75 inches.  
 Weiser varsity girls Shelby Aldrich finished in fourth for the 100 meters with a time of 14.03 seconds.
 Roma Walker finished the 1600 meters in third place with a time of 6:40.02.
 Senior Alyssa Olvera came in second for the 100-meter hurdles with 18.72 seconds.Olvera also took third in the 300 meter hurdles with 53.86 seconds.
 Weiser took second place in the 4x100 relay with the team of Emily Christopherson, Alyssa Olvera, Shae Kunz, and Shelby Aldrich. Their time was 54.95 seconds.
 Weiser varsity girls were first in the sprint medley relay. Emily Christopherson, Ashlyn Walker, Shae Kunz, and Mattie Shirts ran the race in 2:03.83.
 The Wolverines had one girl place in the top ten for shot put. Mellissa Sandoval came in third with a distance of 31 feet 5 inches.
 Weiser took fourth in the girls’ high jump. Shelby Aldrich had a jump of 4 feet 8 inches.
 Shae Kunz was fourth in the pole vault with a height of 8 feet. Shelby Aldrich took second in the long jump with a personal best of 14 feet 11 inches.   
 Sophomore Mattie Shirts took fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 30 feet 6.5 inches.
