If your New Year’s resolution is to get healthy and fit, to exercise or go to the gym regularly or to support your local businesses, then you are in luck as there is a new choice available for your fitness goals.  
 Beyond Barbell Gym opened in May of 2019 and provides a variety of machines and free weights.  Beyond Barbell has 24-hour access and is very reasonably priced and pressure-free.

 Beyond Barbell Gym is owned and operated by Kevin Bravo.  Bravo is a 2017 Weiser High School graduate where he was active in wrestling and was a standout soccer player for the Wolverines.  Bravo was awarded a soccer scholarship to play for Southwest Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, Ore.  
 While attending SWOCC, Bravo studied business and continued to work hard on the soccer pitch, but despite Bravo’s love and talent for the game, he felt that something was missing and he was not following his passion of living a life helping people with their health and fitness.  
 Bravo had discovered at a young age that when he was working out and focused on his physical health, it had a profound effect on his mental health, as well.  As a result, his dream was to open his own gym to help others feel the same way.  
 When Bravo realized that he wanted to own his own gym, it wasn’t a “someday” goal.  Through a lot of prayer and faith in God, he began researching everything he could about health and fitness, business ownership and gym ownership, all while still attending class, playing soccer and working.  
 He also began buying pieces of fitness equipment as he could afford them. Before long, the dream was all consuming and he left school and returned to Weiser to pursue the business.  Bravo continued to plan the business, work as many shifts at his regular job as he could, save his money and buy equipment one piece at a time.  
 By May 5, 2019, his dream had come to fruition and he had procured a location for the gym, filled it with equipment and Beyond Barbell Gym was open for business. Beyond Barbell is located ay 270 E. 7th St. in the shopping plaza with Los Poblanos and H & R Block next to the Weiser River bridge on Highway 95.           
 Beyond Barbell Gym is unique and Bravo is proud to offer monthly memberships for $28.99 and no start-up fee. Membership includes 24-hour access to the facility and a free key fob.
 Additionally, Bravo is eager to help his patrons get started with their fitness goals in a judgment-free atmosphere, helping his customers learn proper techniques, posture and safety in their lifts. He also provides a list of free sample workouts posted in the gym, so inexperienced patrons have guidance and don’t get frustrated and quit.  
 All of Bravo’s training and guidance is free-of-charge and he is proud to be able to provide this service to his customers.  Emblazoned upon the gym’s walls are mantras that are important to Bravo. His drive and determination at such a young age prove that he lives by them:  “Prove them Wrong, Prove Yourself Right” and “When You Know Where You’re Going, Where You Are Doesn’t Trouble You.”
