Advanced concealed-carry class slated for September

The Washington County Federation of Republican Women is hosting two conceal-carry classes this fall.
 Classes will consist of a combination of legal rights and information, gun safety, shooting practice, as well as the opportunity to try various calibers of firearms and instruments, and be trained by the area’s most experienced instructors.
 The enhanced class will enable participants to receive a concealed carry permit in Idaho and Oregon, and be recognized in 39 other states.
 The first class is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24 from approximately 6-9 p.m. The hands-on portion of the class is set for either Saturday or Sunday, Sept. 25 or 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Participants must be present on Friday and either the Saturday or Sunday class).
 Sept. 17 is the deadline to sign up.
 The second class is scheduled for Oct. 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and either Saturday or Sunday, Oct. 23 or 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the hands-on portion.
 Signups are limited to first-come, first-served and spots can only be held once payment is received.
 Both classes will be held in Weiser, the exact location provided upon sign up, which is $110.
 The cost includes all legal documents, training, classwork, targets, etc.
 Participants must provide ammunition. There will be a limited amount of ammunition for purchase for those who cannot obtain it.
 Instruments available for use include 9mm, .22 caliber, 38 Special, and .45 caliber pistols.
 A potluck-style lunch will be provided.
