2024 Idaho Primary Election Results

The 2024 Idaho Primary Election, held Tuesday, May 21, is over.
 After the smoke cleared, it was Brandon Shippy taking 51.7 percent of the votes, or 4,404, for the State Senator Dist. 9 Republican nomination over opponent Scott Syme who garnered 48.3 percent of the vote, with 4,114.
 Democratic candidate Rachel Buck, who ran unopposed, received 412 votes.
 The State Representative Dist. 9, Seat A nomination went to newcomer John Shirts who tallied 61.84 percent of all votes, or 5,274. Encumbant Jacyn Gallagher took 38.16 percent, or 3,255 votes.
 Republican Judy Boyle, who ran unopposed for the State Representative Dist. 9, Seat B position, received 7,172 votes while Democrat candidate Jody Keeler, who also ran unopposed, received 415 votes. The commissioner Dist. 1 race was won by Republican Jim Harberd who tallied 65.97 percent of the vote against opponent Lisa Collini’s 34.03 percent. Democrat candidate Carolyn Wesner received 141 votes, running unopposed.
 District 3 Republican candidate Gordon Wilkerson received 2,295 votes to Democratic Candidate Linda Strain’s 144 votes. Both ran unopposed. In the County Sheriff race, incumbent Matt Thomas received 2,272 votes, for 87.15 percent, while opponent Ronald Pound garnered 335 votes, for 12.85 percent.
 Of significant note was Weiser School District No. 431’s successful levy, which voters approved by 53.95 percent, or 1,194 votes. Those against the levy numbered 1,019, or 46.05 percent.
 Winning the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney race was True Pearce, with 63.63 percent, 1,692. Opponent Josh Dolton received 36.37 percent, with 967 votes.
