In Weiser we trust

Published by admin on Wed, 08/26/2026 - 4:30pm
Dear Editor:
Our search for where we wanted to live took two years. Traveling through four states, visiting 15 cities, in the 2,500 mile journey, we knew Weiser was our ultimate destination.
That journey was five years ago. Today we are facing the inevitability of our city’s growth. Currently, we have assurances concerning our growth. The future is unclear.
In an effort to keep the door open to future growth, modification of our zoning code in the industrial area would minimize the city’s vulnerability.

The City of Weiser’s chip seal project is underway. While the actual chip sealing has started this week, crews have been preparing for several weeks by sealing cracks, sweeping streets, and removing or burning weeds and debris before the chip seal is applied.
We want to thank everyone for helping us by moving cars, trailers, and other objects off the streets when requested. Your cooperation helps the work move along safely and efficiently.

With the New Plymouth Invite set as the first cross country meet of the 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 21, Wolverine head coach Scott Hale is looking forward to seeing what the team brings to the table.
“We’ve had an average of eight or nine runners, about half the team, during our summer practices, getting plenty of miles in,” Hale told the Signal American. “I’m sure some of the others have been running on their own as well.”
