Learn about the future of Idaho Education on Sept. 19

 The Washington County Federation of Republican Women will host Republican candidate for superintendent of public education Debbie Critchfield who will  talk about her vision for Idaho’s public education. Miss Idaho Sarah Jensen will present her social platform on why math matters and her future goals. Weiser Superintendent of Schools Wade Wilson will share his vision for Weiser schools. This free event will be held on Monday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Weiser High School auditorium. The event is open to te public.

Ehrlin sentenced in Mann Creek incident

Erik Ehrlin, the Greenleaf man who was arrested following a 2021 incident at a Mann Creek campground involving federal officers, has been sentenced to 78 months, or 6.5 years, in federal prison.
 Ehrlin, 33, who was charged with firearms violations and assaulting an officer, was investigated for vandalism on government property in the Mann Creek area beginning in March 2021, according to a media release issued by the U.S. Department of Justice.

September Fest in City Park

 The Latino Community of St. Agnes Church invites everyone to the September Fest, this coming Saturday, Sept. 17 in Weiser City Park from noon to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy authentic Mexican food, a baked food sale and live mariachi music (3 p.m. to 4 p.m.) Everyone is wlcome. Weiser’s new Dollar General welcomes manager

Kara Rodriguez thrives on challenges, so when Dollar General, located at 1430 E. Sixth St., was looking for a manager for its new store, she decided to apply.
 Rodriguez knew she had a good job as the second in command in the bakery department at Ridley’s Family Markets, located just across the street, but decided to take a chance when she learned of DG’s opening.

Fire fighters to be commended for their efforts to contain fire

Well, Weiser and Washington County, you can be proud of the athletic abilities of your Police, Sheriff, and Fire Departments! Last Saturday evening, Arrow-Heart, held their annual fundraising softball game with Malhuer County at Memorial Park. For those of you who may not know, Arrow-Heart is a local youth leadership training organization headed up by Weiser’s own Steve Fenske with the help of many volunteers.
