Vernon Loy Jacks

Vernon Loy Jacks, 91 years old, a pioneer from Midvale, Idaho, passed away March 18, 2020 at Weiser Care of Cascadia in Weiser, Idaho.
Vernon is survived by his wife and soul mate Norma Jacks, his step-son Rodney Jones and his wife Susan and son Christopher, two sisters Aimee and Bertha, two brothers Alan and Bobby, and many nieces and nephews.
Vernon quit school and became a janitor of the Midvale High School and later became the bus driver and drove for many years. He was the best driver they ever had; just ask any of his students.
Vernon had other jobs in his long life including helping his dad deliver mail on the Star Route on horseback in all kinds of weather and working as caretaker at the Midvale and Keithley Creek cemeteries.
Vernon and his brother Alan had a business called Have Hounds will Travel, hunting with their hounds for raccoon, bobcat, and bear that farmers were having trouble with. Vernon and his brother Alan also had a dairy, raised cattle, and grew alfalfa.
Vernon was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle and stepfather. He loved his ranch and nature, was a great storyteller and was always ready to share his hunting and other adventures to everyone he met.
He will be terribly missed by family and friends, and especially by his wife Norma, of 50 years, who is left with a broken heart.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lienkaemper-thomason.com.
