Roger Andrew Perkins

Roger Andrew Perkins of Boise, Idaho passed away on May 24, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.  
 He was born in McCook, Neb. in 1934 and moved to Idaho when he was four.  
 After graduating from Weiser High School in 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Hemenway.
 Roger joined the Idaho Army National Guard in 1952 and went to work full-time for the Guard in 1956. He attended Army flight training qualifying in both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.  
 After a four-year tour of active duty at the National Guard Bureau in Washington D.C. he returned to Idaho and was selected to be the State Personnel Management Officer with a promotion to full Colonel.
 During his military career, he flew over 6,000 flying hours in a variety of Army helicopters and airplanes.
 He retired in June 1990 after nearly 38 years of service.
 Roger is survived by Joyce, his loving wife of 67 years, two children, Cindy Marlow of Boise, and Vicki Weber (Jim) of Riverton, Utah; three brothers, Don (Kay) of Orange, Calif.; Ken of Weiser, Idaho; Tom (Cindy) of Albany, Ore.; his sister, Sandra Perkins, of Mountain City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his son Rodney, his parents Everett and Claudine, and two older brothers, Jim and Bob.
