Myra Jean Batcheller

Surrounded by her loved ones, Myra Jean (Pierce) Batcheller of Ontario, Ore., peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the age of 77.
 Myra “Sis” was born to Leo and Vivian Pierce on April 9, 1942 in Ravenna, Neb.
 In 1955 Myra and her family moved to Idaho where she later graduated from Weiser High School in 1960.
 She married John Hickey in 1961, and to this marriage a son was born, Johnny Ray Hickey. On March 5, 1967, she married William A. Batcheller and together they had a son, Greg Batcheller.
 Sis lived for her family, whom she loved dearly. She also loved her home, cooking and reading. Sis had many talents she was known for, including painting, cake decorating, ceramics and many more. She also enjoyed frequent trips to the family cabin, fishing, camping and riding ATV’s. After Bill’s retirement, she enjoyed their winters in Arizona for many years.
 She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bill; two sons, John (Virginia) Hickey of Fruitland, Idaho and Greg (Timme) Batcheller of Ontario, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Josh (Andra) Hickey of Sandpoint, Idaho, Mitch Hickey (Emily Kirsting) of Kuna, Idaho, Ryan (Tasha) Hickey of Salem, Ore., Kolton Batcheller of Ontario, Ore., Brady Batcheller of Ontario, Ore., Nicholas Franek (Whitney Stanley) of Lewiston, Idaho and Kayla (Mike) Humphrey of Fruitland, Idaho; four great-grandchildren, Bradly, Sara, Sawyer, and August; one brother, Dick Pierce of Payette, Idaho; three sisters, Dawna (Andy) Jackson of Fruitland, Idaho, June (Ross) York of Nampa, Idaho and Cindy (Gary) Slone of Payette, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 She is preceded in death by her parents.
 The family would especially like to thank Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) of Fruitland, for their warm, compassionate and personal care during her last three years. We would also like to thank the staff at Dorian Place and Heart n’ Home Hospice.

 A celebration of life luncheon will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Payette Senior Center, 137 N. Main Street, Payette, Idaho. Photos and stories welcome.
 Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
