Delight Ann Neal Nov. 22, 1945 - March 22, 2020

Delight Ann Neal passed away peacefully with family in Sacramento, Calif.
She is survived by her husband David G. Neal, 8 children and 15 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Pamela Meeker and countless cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Delight was born to Wilma and Richard “Bud” Mark in Vallejo, Calif., on Nov. 22, 1945.
She had two siblings and liked being the middle child between Pam and her younger brother, Richard.
She spent 53 years loving her life in California. Growing up, she attended Mira Loma High School in Sacramento. She was “flabbergasted” when elected and crowned Mira Loma’s first Jr. Prom Queen in 1962.
She worked 33 years in the family-run business known as the Top Drawer Beauty Salon. She enjoyed being a cosmetologist and making people feel good about themselves inside and out.
In 1998, she moved to Idaho with her husband to build their dream home, which overlooks the Snake River.
Delight truly was the epitome of her name: “charming; something that causes happiness or joy.” So much so, her Idaho friends nicknamed her “Delightful.”
She embraced a new life of creativity, quilting, sewing with friends, and fishing with her husband. Delight had an amazing sense of humor and quick wit. Many who spent time with her would experience bouts of laughing until they cried at her hilarious remarks.
She especially loved her grandchildren and was always driving or flying to wherever they were to help out, being present and in the moment.
Her kind and loving spirit will be missed but forever embedded in our hearts. She said, if people asked, to tell them: “I had a wonderful life and was very happy. Think of me when you see a leaf fall or when you hear the wind rustle in the trees. I will see you all again in Heaven. Much Love, Delight.”
