The Wolverines couldn’t keep up with number one seed Homedale in game two of district last Monday, falling 9-0 to  the Trojans in the contest.
Kaleb Grove pitched all 6 innings for the Wolverines allowing 9 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits, striking out 3.
Weiser took on  McCall-Donnelly the next day at home, winning the outing 11-7.
The Vandals scored 1 in the top of the first, but the Wolverines answered with 5 points on the board.
Jack Shirts drew 4 walks in 4 at-bats during the game. In the bottom of the first, Shirts went to second base on an error. Grove flew out to center field, but an errant throw allowed Shirts to score. Finn Dolton added a single to center field and then Harry Cook doubled on a line drive to left field advancing Dolton to third. Brenett Marshall walked to load the bases and then Telsyn Hawker hit a single to center field making it to second base and scoring both Dolton and Cook. Cole Ingle took a turn, reaching on an error by the second baseman to score Marshall.
The Vandals added a run in the top of the second.. Shirts was walked again, Grove was hit by a pitch, and Dolton was walked to load the bases Cook showed the Wolverines why he is in the four-hole and launched a grand slam. Weiser up 9-5.

The Wolverines went on to face the Parma Panthers the next night at home again for their fourth game this season. Shirts got the start for the Wolverines and lasted five and a third innings allowing 5 runs on 3 hits and struck out 5 Panthers. Black came in to finish the last inning and two thirds and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and struck out 2 batters.
Defensive errors plagued the Wolverines, and recording six. On offense it just wasn’t the Wolverine’s day with Weiser getting four hits and zero RBIs. Marshall, Black, and Shirts each went 1 for 2 during the contest.
With the loss, Weiser’s hopes of playing at the state tournament this weekend were dashed and their season came to an end. Weiser has historically hosted the State tournament and this will be the last year they will do so with IHSAA coming in and sanctioning the sport.
 Good season, Weiser!
