Weiser wrestling had a great week of SRV competition this past week. First they travelled to McCall on Wednesday to take on the Vandals. Weiser did extremely well winning the dual 60-12.
McCall has put together a pretty good team and only gave up three forfeits on the night.  Weiser is still moving a few wrestlers around and didn’t have a 106 pounder for this dual so that was recorded as a double forfeit.
Highlights for the night were Kaleb Grove who won by fall in just 1:52 in a whole new weight class for him at 285 pounds.
Weston Black beat his opponent by fall in just 38 seconds and Luke Sarich won his match by fall in a perfect minute of competition.
Weiser was also able to get in a couple of extra matches during the competition.  There were also some more technical matches that were won by decision with athletes trying some different moves and perfecting technique.
Results on the night were as follows.
160 Matthew Monterrosa won by decision 3-2.
170 Kash Cobb won by decision 4-3.
182 Austin Ashley was defeated by decision 5-0.
195 Lucas Goff was defeated by decision 5-1.
220 Harry Cook won by forfeit.
285 Kaleb Grove won by fall 1:52.
98 Wyatt Black won by forfeit.
113 Eric Ramirez was defeated by fall 1:47.
120 Charlie Nevarez won by fall 2:28.
126 Weston Black won by fall :38.
132 Cale Brassfield won by forfeit.
138 Cole Ingle won by fall 5:28.
145 Ty Cobb won by fall 3:56.
152 Luke Sarich won by fall 1:00.
Weiser then travelled to Parma Friday night in a Tri-dual with Parma and Payette. The Wolverines did well in both events.
Against Parma, Weiser showed no mercy in the matches that they got winning a whopping 83-0.  Parma has had some trouble filling weights and gave the Wolverines 36 points with six forfeits during the contest.
When you are trying to prep for Districts and need to get in some more matches this isn’t the way to do it.  Seven of the eight remaining matches were won by fall and the last one out of the eight was won by a technical fall.  Weiser was relentless during the dual.
 Results were:
98 Wyatt Black won by forfeit.
 106 double forfeit.
113 Eric Ramirez won by fall 2:32.
120 Charlie Nevarez won by tech fall 17-2 2:41.
126 Weston Black won by forfeit.
132 Cole Ingle won by forfeit.
138 Cale Brassfield won by forfeit.
145 Ty Cobb won by forfeit.
152 Luke Sarich won by fall :18.
160 Matthew Monterrosa won by fall :47.
170 Kash Cobb won by fall 3:26.
182 Austin Ashley won by fall :30.
195 Lucas Goff won by fall :27.
220 Harry Cook won by fall :43.
285 Dylann Ashley won by forfeit.
Then it was time to face Payette. Weiser got down to business and was again handed 36 points from forfeits alone. Weiser won their six matches wrestled all exclusively by falls. Three of the six were done in less than 1 minute.  The wrestlers also got in an extra five matches at the end for good measure. There was also some moving around in weights yet again due to strategy and seeding. Weiser won the contest 72-12.
 Results were as follows.
 98 double forfeit.
106 Wyatt Black was defeated by fall.
113 Eric Ramirez won by fall 1:45.
120 Charlie Nevarez won by forfeit.
126 Weston Black won by fall :43.
132 Cole Ingle won by fall in :50.
145 Ty Cobb won by fall 4:52.
152 Luke Sarich won by forfeit.
160 Matthew Monterrosa won by forfeit.
170 Carlo Apostoli won by forfeit.
182 Kash Cobb won by fall 4:29.
195 Lucas Goff won by fall :57.
220 Kaleb Grove won by forfeit.
285 Keegan Willet won by forfeit.
Weiser will be hosting men’s wrestling districts on Saturday in Weiser. The Lady Wolverines will travel to Boise for District tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday!
 Go Wolverines.
