Weiser is fortunate to have a great hospital in our small town

I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends.
Speaking of family and friends, last Thursday, Cathy and I had the pleasure of attending the Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees.  We had invited Bonnie Akbar from Artful Bon’s and her father Dick Garrett to join us as well as a couple we have been friends with since high school.
For anyone who may not know, the Festival of Trees is an annual fundraising event which helps fund various projects for the hospital. I believe this year’s fundraising will help support the purchase of surgical equipment.
In writing about this event, I’d like to take a moment and just reflect on how fortunate we are. There are not many cities in Idaho of our size or smaller, and for that matter in the nation, that have a hospital. We in Weiser not only have a hospital in our little corner of Idaho, but have a high-quality hospital with an amazing array of services. Weiser is truly blessed to have these caregivers and this facility in our community!
Getting back to our friends from high school, you may remember me talking about my playing in an upcoming renaissance Christmas concert with renaissance instruments.  Well, our friend, Kim Wardwell who attended the Festival of Trees with us, is the one who organizes the concert each year. Kim read my article last week and promptly corrected me on something I wrote. I am not playing on a snake for the Christmas concert.  I am playing on a Serpent!
