Two day closure of DMV announced

The office of DMV and driver's license will be closed Feb. 27 and 28 for a temporary move to the new addition to the Washington County Annex building. The final phase of the remodel, once completed, will be the new home for the Washington County Assessor, DMV and motor vehicle licensing departments.
Washington County Assessor Debbie Moxley-Potter has announced the county’s driver’s license and DMV office will be closed Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27 and 28, in preparation for the completion of the Annex building’s remodel.
While the second phase of the remodel starts in the current location of the driver’s license and DMV office, the services will temporarily relocate into the completed portion of the Annex building located at 485 E. Third St.
“During the first phase of the project, a temporary wall has been in place between the newly constructed remodel and the old portion of the building,” Moxley-Potter said. “The second phase will match the old portion with the new, and then the temporary wall will come down. At that time, the assessor’s office will move out of the courthouse, and join the driver’s license and DMV staff in the newly remodeled office.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as we have worked through the entire construction project,” she added.
