Smith Auto sponsors Angel Wings

Angel Wings Network is excited and honored to announce that Smith Auto of Weiser will be a Gold Sponsor of the 13th annual Angel Wings Walk/Run on Oct. 12, 2024 at the Weiser City Park.

 Angel Wings Network, a nonprofit cancer support organization, and Smith Auto worked together for the first time in July when Angel Wings learned of a young cancer patient who was travelling everyday for treatment to St. Luke’s in Boise. 

 Daily temperatures were hitting over 100 degrees each day. He and his mom were making the trip with no air conditioning. Angel Wings gave them its transport van and set up an appointment with Smith Auto GM Jake Welker, asking for the dealership’s help. 

 They not only repaired the air conditioner but gave the family a loaner vehicle until the repairs were completed, so that Angel Wings would have their transport van back to use for other cancer patients. 

 People working together to help people, that is a special thing. 

 Angel Wings Network serves a number of communities within a 70-mile radius of their office in Weiser. They provide myriad of free cancer support services for cancer patients, including transportation to treatment centers they call “Wheels to Recovery.” The Angel Wings service area is also a primary marketing area for Smith Auto of Weiser, making it a logical partnership to support each other and the communities we live and work in. 

 Angel Wings Network and their board of directors hope that this new partnership with Jake and the entire team at Smith Auto will be the beginning of a long-term team effort, helping people with cancer in our rural communities.
