Several local nonprofits participating in Idaho Gives

The four day opportunity to donate to any number of Idaho’s hundreds of nonprofits registered in the 2024 Idaho Gives campaign will get underway Monday, April 29, and run through Thursday, May 2, with all donations being tax deductible for donors.
 A program of the Idaho Nonprofit Center, Idaho Gives is now in its 11th year, and over time has raised nearly $20 million for participating nonprofits across the state. From its beginnings, each year has seen a large increase in returns to registered charities, with nearly $4 million donated in 2023.
 Included in this year’s registered nonprofits are 17 local area charities, several based in Weiser, and a few others in communities just south or north of here. Following is a list of those we have a chance to support through the annual program, along with a brief description of each group’s mission.
Adams County Health Center - Council
The Adams County Health Center in Council serves a community of approximately 3,900 residents in an area of 1,365 square miles that is designated as a primary care, dental and mental health professional shortage area, as well as a medically underserved population area. 
Angel Wings Network, Inc.
 One of Weiser’s most visible nonprofits, Angel Wings Network provides support to cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family members, and loved ones who have been touched by cancer within rural communities, where there is a general lack of resources and services for cancer patients..
Arrow-Heart Adventure Camps, Inc.
 Arrow-Heart Adventure Camp is a 10-month leadership program that focuses on helping young people garner inner strength and a positive direction in their life, through leadership and mentor training; as well as, through serving others.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley
 Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley serves to inspire and empower youth and teens achieve success in academics/career development, make decisions that are part of a healthy lifestyle, and develop good character and leadership skills.
CASPR Dog Rescue
 Our mission is to rescue, protect, provide care, comfort, and compassion to all animals that are abused, neglected, abandoned, in crisis or distress, striving for a world where animal rescues no longer exist because all animals receive the treatment, care, and companionship that they all deserve.
Cornerstone Whole Health Care 
Organization - Payette
 Youth Mental Health Fund - Funds are used to pay for therapy and/or counseling on an individual or group basis or to meet other mental health needs like medication, and more.
Friends of Goodrich Schoolhouse - Council  
 The Friends of the Goodrich Schoolhouse is a 501(c)3 established to restore, preserve and protect the historic schoolhouse built in 1911 in what used to be Goodrich, Idaho. The building and 0.8 acres of land were donated in 2023 and the restoration process is beginning this year. 
Friends of the Weiser Public Library   
 We provide funding for a small public library in Weiser, Idaho. We provide funding for activities for children, informational programs for our community, and educational programs for all ages. 
Friends of the Weiser River Trail – 
Eagle
 To develop, manage and maintain a public, 84-mile long recreational trail along its length, Friends of the Weiser River Trail (FWRT) is a private, nonprofit organization formed to convert the old Pacific and Idaho Northern (PIN) railroad grade from Weiser, Idaho, to Rubicon (near New Meadows, Idaho) into a trail for public recreation. 
Future Wolverines Foundation   
 Future Wolverines Foundation, Inc. is an organization that helps children in the Weiser School District area to be able to participate in activities such as, basketball, football, soccer, cheerleading, reading programs, baseball and any other activity that is made available to them. 
Illustrious Onion Skin Players  
 Performing since 1985, the Illustrious Onion Skin Players perform an 1890s-style melodrama the first three full weekends of March every year. 
ROSE Advocates Inc.
 ROSE Advocates is a confidential network offering resources to abused children and adults since 1988. Serving six Idaho counties of Adams, Boise, Gem, Payette, Washington, and Valley, and more, ROSE Advocates supports individuals dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, dating violence, stalking, and elder abuse, and works with individuals and communities to raise awareness. ROSE Advocates 24-Hour Crisis Hotline is 208-414-0740.
Special Olympics Idaho - 
New Plymouth
 The mission of Special Olympics Idaho is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
The Idaho Foodbank - Statewide
 The Idaho Foodbank is an independent, donor-supported, nonprofit organization founded in 1984, and is the largest distributor of free food assistance in Idaho. From warehouses in Boise, Lewiston and Pocatello, The Idaho Foodbank distributes over a million meals of food each month to Idaho families through a network of more than 440 community-based, charitable partners throughout the state. 
Treasure Valley Community College Foundation - Ontario
 The Treasure Valley Community College Foundation believes that strong communities are built by an educated citizenry; that families are kept whole and healthy by parents who are self-sufficient and knowledgeable; that children with dreams for a better world and a productive future are the long-term solutions to the challenges faced by humankind. We are committed to providing educational opportunities for every student with the desire and drive to go to school.
Weiser Memorial Hospital 
Foundation 
 Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation continues its Healthcare Scholarship Fund benefiting local students seeking an education in the healthcare field. 100 percent of all donations raised through Idaho Gives will be used to fund scholarships for students going into a healthcare-related field.
Weiser River Animal Shelter and 
Rescue
 Weiser River Animal Shelter and Rescue’s mission is to rescue and shelter until adoption any animal in need of assistance. Our vision is of a day when there are no animals we cannot rescue and shelter before rehoming.
