Fall WHS athletes named to SRV all-conference teams

A total of 14 Wolverine football players were named to SRV all-conference teams.  SRV 3A league coaches have voted, naming first and second all-conference teams for both football and volleyball, with a good number of Weiser High School’s athletes earning honors.
 Going 10-2 on the season and 4-1 in conference, Weiser’s Wolverine football team earned a 2023 State third-place trophy.
 Three Weiser seniors were selected for the top three designations of Player of the Year, Brock Spencer on offense, Braden Phillips on defense, and Ryndon Olsen as kicker.
 Weiser players named to the First Team offense include quarterback Kolin Cook, running back Kaleb Grove, offensive lineman Phillips, and offensive lineman Harry Cook. On defense, lineman Kash Cobb, linebacker Grove, linebacker Luke Sarich, and defensive back Spencer.
 Second team members include offensive running back Jayden Walker, wide receiver Jack Shirts, offensive lineman Karsten Walker, defensive linebacker K. Cook, and defensive back Xander Gray.
 Gray earned honorable mention in his role of wide receiver on offense, as did tight end Jack Tucker, offensive lineman Dylan Ashley, defensive linebacker Walker, and defensive back Jack Shirts.
 Five seniors participated in the 27th annual East-West Shrine All-Star football game this past Saturday, Nov. 25. Weiser’s five included Spencer, Phillips, Grove, H. Cook, and J. Walker. 
 Playing with 4A and 5A all-stars at Middleton High School on the West team, the game went down to the wire with a 13-15 loss in the final seconds.
Volleyball
 Weiser’s Lady Wolverines went 15-9-4 on the season and 8-2 in conference, winning their way to a final state play-in match on Oct. 21.
 Senior All-Star designations went to Abi Wilkins, Danica Lockett, and Rylee Roberts.
 Wilkins and Lockett were both named to the first team in their positions as outside hitter and setter, respectively.
 Roberts, libero, and Paisley Noyer, outside hitter and middle blocker, were named to the second team. Sophomore Madi Wilkins, setter, received honorable mention.
