Check your ins. plan, you maybe surprised on coverage

 We received an unpleasant surprise about our BlueCross Advantage/Medicare insurance plan. Today we contacted BlueCross inquiring about the coverage of a procedure believing that we had coverage and found that we had no coverage for 2025. We are writing this as a heads-up for others.

 During the open enrollment period, we received new membership cards from BlueCross along with a letter with this statement:

 Enclosed you will find your new Blue Cross of Idaho MA member ID card. The date your card was issued is listed on the bottom right corner. You do not need to take any additional action.

 The issue date was 01/01/2025, indicating that we had coverage for 2025. Acting on their advice, we took no further action and today we find out that we do not have an advantage plan for the coming year, instead we would revert to traditional Medicare with no drug plan. Because the plan was cancelled, we do have an extended period until Feb. 28, 2025 to enroll in a advantage plan

 We write this letter as a warning to others who have a BlueCross Advantage plan in Washington County and who have not updated to a new plan for 2025. Take action. We found that True Blue Rx Extend (HMO) H1350-023-001 is not available for 2025 despite the letter and membership cards from BlueCross.
