Barbecue rib dinner and dancing to help pay down the senior center mortgage tickets are now on sale

I am looking forward to the pay down the mortgage barbecue rib dinner and dance, on Saturday, Sept. 23. Tickets are limited to 150, due to the amount of seating we have, and need to be purchased in advance. NO tickets will be sold at the door! They must be purchased at the center. They are starting to go fast, so don’t delay. 

 As I said before it is my favorite meal. It is a full meal with dessert and drinks included. The cost is $25 each. Dinner at 5 p.m. and dancing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 I have been enjoying this cooler weather, but I hear that hot is coming back. This weather reminds me of when I was in Colorado one time. Seventy degrees one day and snow the next. As I mentioned before I’m sure not looking forward for winter to show up too soon, (well never would be too soon), except maybe the week from Christmas to New Years. I say let the mountains and ski resorts have it lol. 

 Pancake breakfast will be on Sept. 2, and biscuits and gravy on Sept. 16. 

 Pinochle will begin again on Sept. 7 for all you who love the game. Bingo will be open again on Sept. 11. Sorry that they were not open sooner, but with people going on trips, and just plain too hot, the number of players was down. Callers were also away. 

 To those who need some assistance, the food bank will be Sept. 20. I so enjoy working there. We have been serving 320 households. We have been the top organized food bank for most of the time, and now other ones are copying us in the fast way we deliver. After the truck gets there and unloads, the volunteers start getting things ready to go. We have some instructions of how much each household gets of an item, and a prayer, then it’s a fast go line. I am amazed at how smooth everything goes. A hard four to five hours of work, but so worth it. I go home tired, but with a glad heart. We do need more volunteers for distribution, and clean up, so if you are interested, we need you there by 9 a.m.
