***Corrections on Gentry Lane story forthcoming***

On Dec. 13, the Signal American published a story on the county's Dec. 11 public hearing regarding the validation or abandonment of Gentry Lane as a county road.

(See "Commissioners poised to make decision on fate of Gentry Lane" on page 1.)

Some details in the story were found to be incorrect, specifically the chain of ownership of the land involved, among others.

The Signal American will be publishing another story containig corrections, as well as any potential update on the county's final decision regarding Gentry Lane, in a future issue.

City Council approves engineering agreement for Commercial Street rebuild

The Weiser City Council on Dec. 11 approved a $300,000 engineering agreement with Keller and Associates for the reconstruction of E. Commercial Street in Weiser.
 The council’s action was in anticipation of the final approval of a $2 million grant through ITD (Idaho Transportation Department), which is sponsored by the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC). 
 The City of Weiser applied for the grant in October of this year and was informed weeks ago of the likelihood that the grant will be awarded. 

New Year’s Eve Party

 The Weiser Activity Center for Seniors will host a New Year’s Eve Party on Sunday, Dec. 31 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please bring snacks.

Community Christmas Dinner

 Weiser’s COPs (Citizens on Patrol) will host the community Christmas dinner on Monday, Dec. 25 at 12 p.m. at the Weiser Activity Center for Seniors. Anyone in the Weiser city limits wishing their dinner delivered may call 208-907-2038 to place an order.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Senior Center

 The Weiser Activity Center for Seniors will be serving breakfast this Saturday, Dec. 16 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The elk quilt will also be raffled on Saturday.

STEM and art at the library

 The Weiser Public Library is having activity sessions on STEM and art on Fridays through the school year. This Friday, Dec. 15 the STEM activities will be held at 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for 3-5 year olds and 11 a.m. to noon for 6 year olds and up. The art activities will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for 6 year olds and up. The sessions are free but registration is required as space is limited to 20 spots in each section. Registration is at the library or call 208-549-1243. St. Lukes Episcopal Church will host lunch.
