Alice Evelyn Evans

Alice Evelyn Evans, 98, of Midvale, Idaho, passed away Nov. 2, 2018 in Cambridge, Idaho.  
 A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at Midvale Baptist Church at  11 a.m.
 Evelyn was born to Victor and Clara Hopper of Midvale, Idaho on Aug. 4, 1920, the youngest of four children. She lived most of
her life in Midvale, except for her high school years when she lived with her Aunt Bessie Daley  in Portland. 
 She moved into Salubria Assisted Living in Cambridge in Dec. 2015 and remained there until her death.

 Jim crossed that great divide Nov. 3, 2018. He was born to Harold Alva and Viola Blanche Brown on Oct. 12, 1937 in a farm house on Farrell Road in Weiser, Idaho.  

Marie Peery Medford

Marie Peery Medford, 92, of Stockton, passed away on Oct. 19, 2018.
 She was born June 4, 1926; the youngest of three children born to parents L.C. Wisdom and John Roy Peery in Weiser, Idaho.
 She learned to play the piano at age 6, and by age 11 played at church and in high school had 15 piano students. 

Winifred (Toni) Schwartz

On Sept. 18, 2018, Winifred (Toni) “Nana” Schwartz passed away peacefully at the age of 85. 
 Toni was born Nov. 20, 1932 in Lancashire, England to John and Emily O’Brien. 
 Toni attended Catholic school and was a member of the Winstanley School of Dance that traveled all over England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. 

Robert L. Dickerson

Robert L Dickerson, 79, died quietly surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at home in Shedd, Oregon.
 Robert was born March 1, 1939, in Weiser, to Dorothy and Marshall Dickerson Sr.
 Before graduation from Weiser High School, he ran the projector at the Weiser Star Theatre. After graduating he served in the U.S. Army, then afterwards helped in building the Brownlee Dam. He retired after working for the Quest Telephone company.

Shirley Dawn (Kerwin) Johnston

Born in Boise, Idaho, Shirley was the first child of Phillip and Edith Kerwin, arriving on Dec. 22, 1929, at St. Alphonsus Hospital.
 Shirley, her parents and her sister Mary Jo (Lang), lived within walking distance of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Boise, where they attended mass, and was also the location of her marriage to William J. Johnston on April 10, 1950.

Kiyoshi ‘Gish’ Amano

Kiyoshi “Gish” Amano passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 2, 2018 at the age of 94. 
 Gish was born April 9, 1924 in Seattle, Wash., to Tokuchiyo and Shizue Amano. 
 He grew up in Lynden, Wash. and then moved to the Ontario/Weiser area in the mid 1940s. It was here where he met and married his wife Tamae “Mary” Wakasugi on Sept. 2, 1948. 
 Gish was a respected farmer in the area for over 70 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Ontario Community Church. 

Randal Afton Landreth

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, Randal Afton Landreth, of Cambridge, Idaho, passed away at the age of 68.  
 Randy was born on May 31, 1950, in Nampa, Idaho, to Lester and Phyllis (Simons) Landreth.  
 Randy was raised in Meridian, Idaho. Randy met Robin Pennington in the spring of 1970 while she was in nursing school.  He married Robin on Aug. 28, 1971, in Weiser, Idaho. They celebrated 47 years of marriage.  

Opal Waive Turnidge Clapp Stewart

The Gates of Heaven opened wide on Aug. 21, 2018, when Opal’s earthly journey came to a close.  Well-lived: daughter, sister, mother, wife, nurse, nurse practitioner, grandmother, great-grandmother, mountain hiker, friend, traveler, and Billy Graham Association prayer warrior.  
 Born to William Oliver Turnidge and Ruby Gertrude Williamson Turnidge, in Weiser, Idaho, on July 17, 1927, she was 9 when her mother died and her father married Ruby’s sister Viola. 

Marlene Pulsipher Peine

Marlene Pulsipher Peine, 79, Weiser, Idaho, died Sept. 11, 2018 in Weiser, Idaho. She died of congestive heart failure.
 Marlene was born Feb. 20, 1939 in St. Johns, Ariz. She was the eldest child of Merlyn Verdell Pulsipher and Grace Hatch Pulsipher. 
 She married Milton Dean Peine Sept. 15, 1960 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mesa, Arizona. 
 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother-in-law, David Dozier, a sister-in-law, Saunie Pulsipher and son-in-law, Ben Toomalatai.
