Work on new WHS track underway

Construction on Weiser High School's new track began Tuesday, Aug. 27, with heavy equipment removing old asphalt.
Currently, materials to rebuild the track are being staged outside the fenced area, in the parking lot.
Weiser School District administrators want the public to know that the track is closed for the duration of construction and that people are not allowed to go inside the fenced area until the project is complete and the "all-clear" is given to once again access the track and the field.
People are also encouraged to keep clear of the staging area to avoid being injured by heavy equipment transporting materials or otherwise getting in the way of construction activity.
"We had many people walking around the orange cones this morning," Barbara Choate of the Weiser School District said in an email Monday morning.
For your own safety and to prevent the project from being delayed, people are asked not to attempt to access the facility or go near the construction area.
