What part of voter approved is hard to understand?
Dear Editor:
Does “Voter Approved” not mean anything to the Idaho State Legislature? Rep. John Vander Woude says he does not think we can afford to continue with Medicaid expansion that was “Voter Approved.”
How does Mr. Vander Woude feel about the 22% proposed salary increase for the legislature? Before we take insurance from some 85,000 to 90,000 Idahoans maybe we should look at things not voter approved.
I work with cancer patients in our rural communities, who are fighting for their lives and Medicaid is critical for them. What about those seniors in care centers throughout our state who rely on Medicaid?
It bothers me that all of those folks in the Idaho legislature were sent there by the voters, likely some of the same voters that voted for the Medicaid expansion. So, I ask what part of VOTER APPROVED do they not grasp? This is not about politics or money...this is about people’s lives!
