Weiser Memorial Hospital - The first baby of 2025 arrived to parents Kayla and William at Weiser Memorial Hospital on Friday, Jan. 3.
A girl, born at 9:28 a.m. and weighing just over 9 pounds was named Kayme. Baby Kayme is the first child for the smiling parents.
Kayla mentioned she was due on Dec. 28, so an induction was planned for this week. Having the first baby of the year is an exciting event, made even more special with the large donated welcome basket.
Val Donicht was excited to represent Xi Nu Sorority in presenting the large basket full of gifts for the new baby. Included are blankets, clothes, bibs, and other supplies to celebrate and help with the baby’s care.
Val said, “She already has a dollar in a piggy bank.” This was one of the items included in the basket to help the baby off to a good start.
Present for a photo were parents, Kayla and William, Val Donicht, and Dr. Blanchard, who delivered the baby.
Weiser Memorial Hospital has seen an increase in births in recent months, as other nearby OB units have closed. WMH has two spacious labor and delivery suites with space for baby and visitors to remain close to mothers comfortably. In addition to the generous basket for the New Year Baby, each new baby at WMH gets to go home with items lovingly donated by the Friends of Weiser Memorial Hospital (including a homemade bowl, blanket, hat, and other helpful items).
