Recognizing the Weiser Recreation Department

By:
Mayor Herb Haun
I would like to take a moment to recognize the hardworking team behind the Weiser Recreation Department and the important role they play in our community.
 Under the leadership of Ken Anderson, the department continues to provide a wide range of programs and activities for local families.
 Ken is quick to acknowledge the efforts of Jhonna Eldridge, who does an outstanding job organizing registrations and making sure kids are signed up for the many sports and programs offered throughout the year. Her attention to detail helps ensure everything runs smoothly and that no child misses out on opportunities to participate.
 The department also benefits from the work of Andrew Camacho, who helps operate the Vendome Events Center. From cleaning to setting up for events, his contributions help keep the facility ready and welcoming for the public.
 One of the Recreation Department’s biggest responsibilities is managing the community swimming pool. Each year, they provide water aerobics, public swimming, and host meets for the Dolphin Swim Team. These programs are not only fun, but also promote health, safety, and community connection.
 The pool typically opens around Memorial Day and remains open until school resumes in August.
 The schedule for opening the City Pool, May 26 through May 28, is as follows:
 • 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. – Water aerobics;
 • 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Swim Team practice;
 • 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Lap swim;
 • 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Open swim.
 The pool will close after 5 p.m. for training. Starting Friday, May 29, the pool will return to full-time regular hours.
 The Weiser Recreation Department plays a vital role in bringing people together and enriching the lives of residents of all ages. Their dedication deserves recognition and appreciation.
