Pickup and driver rescued from Snake River

On Oct. 23, a white pickup truck ended up in the Snake River near Annex just down Ripple Road from the U.S. Highway 95 Spur bridge. The driver was transported by LifeFlight helicopter after emergency crews extracted him from the half-submerged vehicle.
Oregon State Police declined to provide further information on the incident or the driver’s condition, citing an on-going investigation. Tire marks showed the pickup leaving the asphalt and driving across a corrugated hayfield, through a plastic irrigation pipe and over a cement irrigation ditch before going over the steep riverbank. More than 20 emergency vehicles from various agencies responded to the scene, including Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff, Weiser Police and Weiser Fire District.
