Motorhome fire at Mann Creek Store RV park

Weiser Fire District personnel, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Weiser Ambulance District responded to the report of an early model motorhome on fire at the Mann Creek Store RV park late Monday afternoon. WFD Chief Bud Fisher said the accidental fire started from a 5-gallon propane tank with a radiant heat element on top being used to heat the living space. The owner received burns as he tried to put out the fire, and neighbors stepped in to help with fire extinguishers and a hose and put the fire out as best they could. Idaho Power was called and arrived to assess any damage to meter boxes and poles, as well as address what appeared to have been illegal hook ups, Fisher said. Fisher added the fire looks to be purely accidental and the State Fire Marshal’s office will not be called in to investigate. Photo by Dennis Cooper
