Jon Roderick Uehling

May 14, 1951-July 27, 2026
Jon Roderick Uehling, 75, of Boise, died on July 27, 2026, in Eugene, Ore.
He was born in Weiser, Idaho, and lived in Weiser, Boise, and surrounding natural areas most of his life.
Jon’s passion in life was the out-of-doors and the Idaho wilderness, and he had many adventures. He cross-country skied and telemarked, fished many of Idaho’s great rivers, and hunted wild game in the fall. He filled the freezer with huckleberries, trout, steelhead, salmon, wild turkey, venison, and occasionally elk. He also loved to garden and grew green vegetables, grapes, apples, and peaches.
Jon was an optimist, and he always made the best of things; he saw the glass as half full, not half empty.
He earned a BA in Social Sciences from Boise State University in 1986, as well as a technical certificate. He served in the Army in South Korea during the Vietnam era, working on power systems.
Jon is survived by wife Karen Uehling, daughter Jessie Uehling (Nick Ciufo), son Mycah Uehling (Hester Dang), grandson Cooper Ciufo; brothers David Uehling (Susan), Bill Blevins (Roni), Jerry  Uehling (Melissa), and sister Diana Green (Tom); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Shaill Uehling, mother Joy Blevins (Bill), father Harold Uehling (Deanie), sister Deborah Uehling Cox (Jon), brother Mike Uehling (Barbara), and sister Barbara Bray (Jim).
A celebration of the amazing life of Jon Uehling is planned for Boise in summer 2027. To honor Jon’s memory, please consider a donation to the Idaho Youth Ranch, Idaho Horse Rescue, or your local hospice.
