Information for Washington County residents

Dear Editor:

 I’ve written this letter to advise Washington County residents of a campaign that began in January 2025 and has continued into this year. It’s been a campaign of innuendos, accusations, rumors, lies and half-truths. It has targeted several who are working hard to clean up the mess in our county. The main target is our Prosecuting Attorney True Pearce.

 Many don’t know that it was our County Sheriff’s Office who sought out True Pearce to run for Prosecutor in Washington County. I was at the Country Coffee Cabin when Sheriff Thomas, along with deputies, his detective, the mayor of Midvale and Mr. Pearce came in to announce that Pearce had agreed to run. We were advised of many reasons why this had occurred.

 Most of the letters to the editor against Pearce are from people who were close to the Planning and Zoning Commission, or are the former P&Z members, themselves. They seem to have a lot riding on regaining their positions after being let go for refusing to work with our new prosecuting attorney.

 The constant letters and flyers passed out across the county have blamed everything on Pearce. I’m frankly surprised they haven’t blamed him for the lack of snowpack here in Idaho this year.

 Nate Marvin and Gordon Wilkerson are also being targeted, but let me assure you these are the guys wearing white hats.

 They are trying to straighten out a mess that has existed a long time in Washington County.
