It’s Homecoming week at Weiser High School, with extra activities planned in Weiser’s schools all week long.
The 2025 Homecoming Court was nominated late last week, with seniors Hailey Christopherson, Ellie Shirts, Hardy Capurro, Evie Dolton, and Lucy Chandler on the queen’s court, and Jackson Laird, Cole Ingle, Dylann Ashley, Shayd Crossley, and Thayn Blanchard on the king’s court.
Students will participate in daily dress-up days starting with Monday’s Color Wheel: seniors in black, juniors in blue, sophomores in white, and freshmen in green. On Tuesday, students will dress as their favorite meme or character; Wednesday is generation day, with seniors dressed as elderly, juniors as parents, sophomores as middle schoolers, and freshmen as babies.
The students and staff will show their Wolverine spirit on Thursday, with everyone wearing red and white. Coronation of the Homecoming Queen and King is scheduled in the high school auditorium at 11:10 a.m. and the community is invited to take in the annual parade starting at 1 p.m. from the Weiser High School parking lot and south on West 7th Street. It will turn onto Pioneer Road going past Pioneer School and proceed to the intersection of State Street, where it will turn south onto State and from there to Idaho Street.
Turning east on Idaho, the parade will proceed to Main and East 4th Street, and turn north to move from there to the east side of the Memorial Park football field, where it will end. The annual WHS Powderpuff football game will follow at 2 p.m., with seniors and freshmen girls pitted against the juniors and sophomores.
Both girls and boys soccer teams will be celebrating senior night at their final home games this week, as well. The Lady Wolverines play Payette on Tuesday, with a senior celebration planned ahead of the varsity match. The boys are scheduled to meet Fruitland on Wednesday, Oct. 8, with their seniors being honored between JV and varsity matches, as well.
The WHS volleyball teams will meet Cole Valley in the WHS Tom Falash Gym on Wednesday evening, with freshmen matches starting at 4:45 p.m.
Topping off the week, kick-off for the big game with the Wolverines taking on Cole Valley is set for 7 p.m. at the classic Memorial Park football field, with a student street dance planned following the game.
