Halloween fun and important Fall city updates for Weiser

By:
Mayor Herb Haun
Halloween is almost here, and once again, Weiser’s downtown businesses will be open and ready for some trick-or-treat fun! I’m told the mayor will be joining the kids in costume, so keep an eye out and see if you can spot me. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out enjoying the evening.
Starting Nov. 3, the sewer department will be working nights on State Street between Galloway and Park, beginning at 11 p.m. and continuing into the morning. Please be aware of the work and plan accordingly as crews make these improvements.
We also have a few vehicles and trailers parked in our alleys that are making it difficult for city trucks to get through safely. Our biggest concern is what could happen when the alleys get slick during winter weather. We certainly don’t want a garbage truck sliding into someone’s automobile because there isn’t enough room to get through. Please help us keep the alleys clear so our crews can do their jobs safely.
Alley cleanup should be finished this week, and leaf cleanup is expected to begin late this week or next week. We’ll keep you posted as the crews get started.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! And don’t forget, we get the reward of an extra hour of sleep when we turn our clocks back on Sunday, Nov. 1.
 Go Wolverines!
