 During my time as Mayor of Weiser, one of my most difficult tasks was finding the right people to fill appointed positions. Finding individuals with the necessary knowledge, skillset, and the ability to work as part of a team was a constant challenge.

 There was one individual I frequently hoped to recruit, but was unable to because he lived outside city limits. I am now very pleased to see that this person has found a public position perfectly suited to his background and temperament: Kevin Jones, candidate for Washington County Commissioner.

 I first got to know Kevin in the 1990s while working as a commercial lender in a local bank. In that role, I partnered with hundreds of businesses, gaining an inside view of their operations. Although Kevin and I never worked together directly, I had the opportunity to observe the feed and storage business he operated. I was consistently impressed by his managerial skills, his financial and forecasting abilities, and his talent for cutting through the noise to reach the essentials of complex situations. His operation was one of the finest I had the chance to observe.

 A person with Kevin’s skillset does not come along often. There is a vast difference between having management responsibility within a department and being the one in charge of the entire organization. Kevin has decades of experience being the one in charge.

 It is rare to have someone of Kevin’s caliber volunteer for an elected position. He is qualified, proven, and has Washington County’s best interests at heart. Please join me in voting for Kevin Jones.
