Edward L. Pollard Sr.

Edward L. Pollard Sr. of Weiser, Idaho passed away on Dec. 2, 2023 at the age of 87 after a long battle with cancer.

 Ed was born in Independence, Mo. in September 1936 and he was the only child of Lee and Louise Pollard. 

 When Ed was 2 years old, he and his parents moved to Yucaipa, in southern California, where his father worked on a chicken ranch. 

 Ed enjoyed hunting with his father and camping and fishing with both of his parents. 

 Ed attended Redlands High School, where he was a member of the swim team and the local F.F.A. After he graduated from high school in 1956, Ed joined the Navy and soon after, he married Phylotus (Toty) Nichols. 

 Ed and Toty had three children, Eddie Jr., Belinda, and Lori. 

 After he got out of the Navy, Ed attended San Bernardino Valley College and Cal State Berkeley, where he graduated from engineering school with honors. After college, Ed went to work for Aeroneutronic in Newport Beach, Calif. and settled in nearby Costa Mesa. 

 Ed and his family enjoyed camping and fishing in the Sierra Mountains.

 Ed and Toty eventually divorced and Ed went on to marry Leslie Hall. A few years later, Leslie was tragically killed in a car accident. 

 In 2000, Ed moved from California to his forever home in Weiser, Idaho. Ed then married Sally Johnson, who was also from southern California. Ed and Sally grew to love Weiser, where they made many great friends.

 Ed is survived by his three children, Eddie Jr. (Cathy) Pollard; Belinda (Doug) Johnson; and Lori Yanez; by seven grandchildren, Starr Adams, Kyle Hoff, Lance Hoff, Erica (Jim) Herzog, Travis (Shawnee) Davies, Kendall (Chase Whitaker)Pollard, and Cameron (Michael) Orland; and by 10 great-grandchildren, Brayden Burns, Jadasyn and Lockland Adams, Jeffrey and Charlie Herzog, Emma and Alanna Davies, Xander Gonzalez, and Nixon and Knox Whitaker.

 Ed was preceded in death by his father, Lee, his mother, Louise, his wife, Sally, and his previous wife, Leslie.

 A memorial service will be held for Ed at a later time.
