East Commercial Street is open. No more detours. Businesses to hold open house

The months-long Commercial Street improvement construction project came to its final conclusion in a Grand Opening of the street on Friday, Aug. 15.

Weiser Mayor Randy Hibberd expressed his appreciation to Weiser Public Works Director Mike Campbell for his foresight and vision on the project.

“It was his vision a long time ago to repair Commercial Street,” Hibberd said. “A lot of problems were created when it was first made, so he saw funding was available,put the project together, and saw it through to its finish.

“This is a great renovation to Commercial Street and we want to thank him and everyone else who was involved in this,” he said.

Commercial Street’s merchants are holding a “Welcome Back” open house Saturday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with refreshments and shop specials.
