Donetta Lou (Domeny) Combs

Donetta Lou (Domeny) Combs was born in Longmont Colo. on July 15, 1931. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Jan. 11, 2026.
Sporting a head of red hair in her younger days, she was called “Ginger” by her classmates and “Redhead” by her husband Warren. Yes, she lived through “War of the Worlds” and WWII.
Throughout her early life she moved frequently with her family They eventually landed in Weiser where her father helped open the Albertson’s grocery store.
Donetta went to work for Zeranski’s Jewelry store where she met and then married Warren Price in the fall of 1949. They settled on a farm in NW Weiser where they raised four daughters.
The largest part of her working career was spent doing bookkeeping and accounting. She loved numbers and solving problems. She worked for 10 years as Deputy County Clerk for Washington County in Weiser. She also worked as a bookkeeper for various companies and retired from the Idaho Motor Transport Assoc. in Boise after being with them for eight years.
When it came time to sing the national anthem at any event, she sang the loudest and proudest of anyone. Even in her dementia, she loved and would sing the old-time hymns of her faith.
She was tough and could be salty. She loved her family, golf, gardening, bowling, water and snow skiing, music, learning new things and being involved in the community.
She is survived by her daughters, Deb Nyberg, Dana Baker, Linda Gaschen and her husband Jeff, as well as her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Donetta is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Ruth Domeny, her brother Gary Domeny, her daughter Nita Anderson and son-in-law Dennis Nyberg. Her sister Saundra Price passed away four days after her death.
Services for Donetta will be held Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Baptist Church, 598 Hwy. 95, Weiser, ID 83672 (208) 549-2210.
