Candidate issues public apology

To the citizens of Washington County,
I want to take a moment to address a statement I made at the Thursday, April
9 candidate forum. I spoke about an issue involving employees and the current elected official in the Assessor’s Office, and I realize my words did not come across the way I intended.
I understand the concerns that have been brought to my attention, and I want to address them directly.
I am truly sorry. I apologize to the employees, to Assessor Debbie Moxley-Potter, and to the citizens of Washington County. I have personally reached out to Debbie Moxley-Potter, and I am continuing to do what I can to mend this bridge as we move forward.
As a wife and a mother, I know that we all make mistakes. That is part of life, and it is often how we learn and grow. I am no different. I have flaws, just like anyone else, and I believe it is important to acknowledge when we fall short and take responsibility for it.
I hope you will consider my apology as a reflection of how I would lead the Assessor’s Office if elected with honesty, humility, and thoughtful consideration for how my words and decisions affect others. I want to work with and serve the great people of Washin- gton County with respect, accountability, and care.
Thank you for your time, your consideration, and your grace. May God bless Washington County and the United States of America.
