Weiser's Christmas events


Pioneer Elementary School’s third grade students performed a Christmas concert for their families and friends on Thursday, Dec. 12. The risers were filled with over 90 students from five classrooms, with them being led my music director Anthony Shaber, and singing: You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bell Rock, What Child is This?, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Weiser’s annual all-church Christmas cantata was performed at the Weiser Christian Church on Sunday, Dec. 15, with choir members representing local denominations presenting ‘The Ballad of Bethlehem.’ Choir director Chrissy Mizar and the singers began practicing several weeks ago, culminating in a much enjoyed performance. Pioneer School’s kindergarten students presented a delightful Christmas program for family and friends on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The students sang a number of familiar holiday songs, starting with Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Tapping Elves, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, along with reciting several fun and entertaining Christmas poems. Park Intermediate School’s fourth grade classes performed their holiday program on Tuesday, Dec. 17, singing You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Jingle Bell Rock, Silver Bells, Joy to the World, Rock Around the Christmas Tree, and finishing with We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Park Intermediate School’s fifth grade classes performed their final all class Christmas program on Wednesday, Dec. 18, singing Jingle Bell Rock, Deck the Hall, You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, O Holy Night, and Let It Snow. Weiser’s Heidi Ridlehoover was one of the children to receive a gift from Santa Claus at the Weiser Elks Lodge Santa Giveaway held the evening of Friday, Dec. 20.
