Three-peat not in the cards

Weiser just didn’t have enough weapons to stand atop the podium at the State Track and Field Championships May 16-17. That’s not to say those who did participate didn’t do their level best. They went, they competed, some took home hardware and some had personal or season records. 

 Considering Weiser did not have a viable track to run on nor areas to jump this season, they did an amazing job. 

 For instance, senior Karsten Walker made it to the finals of the boys shot put with a put of 47’8’ on his first throw. Then the rain began, making the concrete a bit dicey. He was seeded seventh going into the competition and left his best throw for last putting the shot 47’10” for a solid fourth place finish and his own PR to end his high school career.
