Rod Sloan

Rod Sloan, 75, of Weiser, Idaho died peacefully at home with friends and family at his side on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at the Weiser Senior Center.
Rod was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Weiser to J.C. and Gayle Sloan. He was raised and educated in Weiser. He joined the U.S. Army right out of high school and served in Viet Nam, completing two tours of duty as a Combat Ranger.
Rod enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, four-wheeling, black-powder shoots with his boys, and learning to play his banjo.
He married Sherrie Donica in 1993 in McCall, Idaho, and shortly thereafter the couple made their home in Weiser.
Rod is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherrie; three sons, Eric (Erin) Sloan, Eron (Trisha) Sloan, and Scott (Kristeen) Sloan; one step-son, Shaun (Margie) Burgers; one step-daughter, Sherri (Kevin) Moore; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and an infant brother.
