New color added downtown

Weiser’s Main Street Board of Directors and volunteers completed a project last week of replacing the previous downtown corridor hanging plants with 18 on-the-ground pots filled with flowers and greenery.
Weiser Main Street Chair Melanie Hickey said the LOR Foundation made the purchase of the new large pots possible with a grant for half of their cost.
“The City of Weiser helped by placing the pots and connecting them to the existing drip watering systems,” Hickey said. “Rustic Ranch Nursery helped coordinate the flowers and plants, and Andrews Seed helped order the pots.”
Pictured planting flowers and greenery in Weiser Main Street’s new decorative pots are Ricci Storelli and Gio Storelli. The rest of the team working on the project last Thursday evening were: Hickey, Rick Estes, Candice Elder, Tawnya Keeler, Doug Elder, and Shawn Andersen.
Hickey said the board is welcoming donations for next summer’s adopt-a-pot program. The Main Street America program is especially helpful to small towns in need of revitalization, but where resources are limited, offering a pathway to grants and information that can help them move forward as future destination points.
