May election canceled in Washington County

May elections for four separate Washington County taxing districts have been canceled due to all positions being uncontested.

 In the Cambridge Library District, Judith Worle filed as the lone candidate and will fill the position left by the late and long-serving Carol Turnbull.

 Two trustees on the Midvale Library District board missed the filing deadline for the election. The board will reappoint the two trustees to their positions.

 One position on the Weiser Valley Highway District was up for election, and current board member David Jenkins will retain his position as he was the sole candidate to file.

 The Weiser Valley Hospital District had four trustee positions up for election, with three of the seats being retained by current board members, Charles Kroll, Sherry Young, and Veronica Vasquez. Diana Thomas entered her name for the fourth position as a write-in candidate, and being the only person to file, she will fill the position on the board.
