Fun and learning all summer long at the library

Summer began in earnest this week, and among its lazy, hazy days are an endless number of books to read and activities for all ages at the Weiser Public Library.
 Summer Reading kicks off on June 1, and will run through July 25, with weekly prizes awarded. Participants can sign up at the library, and prize days are on Thursdays and Fridays.
 Weekly activities in the Summer Reading Programs are set to begin, all at 1 p.m., followed by a craft, snack and free book! Messy Paint Day is July 2 (dress to be messy); a Mario Brothers Meet and Greet on July 9 (dress in your favorite super hero costume); July 16, Dance the Day Away (come ready to move!); and Dr. Picklestein on July 23, (come ready to laugh and learn). 
 The University of Idaho’s Ms. Holli will bring Lego Robotics from 3 to 4 p.m. on June 9 and 12; with a second class offered in the same time slot on June 23 and 26. Call the library to get signed up for the fun classes. 208-549-1243.
 Summer STEM with Ms. Joya will be at 11 a.m., and will start on July 7, Light and Energy; July 14, more about Light and Energy; July 21, Prisms; and July 28, Peacocks Lamps. No registration necessary.
 What’s Cooking at the Weiser Library? Summer cooking classes for ages 10-16 at 11 a.m. Call the library to sign up for the free classes, 208-549-1243. Pasta red sauce, July 8; freezer jam, July 15; mac and cheese, July 22; and fruit pizza, July 29.
 Summer Art Classes for two age groups, 5-9, July 18 and 25; and 10-16 July 11 and Aug. 1. There is limited space, so call to sign up for these fun classes, 208-549-1243.
