Arlene Margaret ‘Smelser’ Burdick

Arlene Margaret “Smelser” Burdick, 87, passed away on Dec. 2, 2022, in Myrtle Creek, Ore. 

 Arlene was born on Feb. 4, 1935, to Marie Pearl Fry and Frank Halford Smelser in Fresno, Calif. 

 On Feb. 11, 1965, Arlene had a daughter Lori D. Lavy in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later on, moving to Caldwell, Idaho she met her love “Red” Elmer Eugene Burdick marrying in 1978.

 Arlene enjoyed her job at the Simplot factory, traveling, sightseeing, and gardening. She also loved very much spending time with her friends and family, including anyone as her “own.” 

 Arlene was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Red, brother Bob Smelser, and sister Jean Lockhart. 

 She is survived by brothers Dale Smelser, Carl Smelser. Daughter Lori, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. 

 Arlene will be laid to rest at the Canyon Hill Cemetery next to her parents. There will be a celebration of life held in the spring, date and time to be announced.
