Wrestlers take huge wins against three teams

Weiser wrestlers travelled to Payette on Tuesday to face the Pirates in a dual.
Only seven matches were wrestled due mainly to Payette wrestlers not filling weight classes.
Weiser still has not filled their 106 pound weight class and forfeited that match, but there were some good matches and it was a chance for the Weiser wrestlers to focus on some fundamentals and new moves.
Billy Nevarez started off the night, winning by forfeit. Rafael Delgadillo got a match in and won by fall. Tristan Coria had a hard-fought match and came out on the wrong end of a win by fall. Jace Buescher was up next and won his match by fall, as did Justin Williamson. Kooper von Brethorst won his match by decision 4-0, followed by Eric Torres, Maddox Stevens, and Max Kingsbury winning by forfeits. Boone Ksiazek was next and won due to medical forfeit, followed by another win for Malachi Hoobery due to forfeit as well.
Rylee Willet got a chance to wrestle and did well with another win by fall for the Wolverines, and then Elijah Carter and Tristan McMahill both received forfeits to end the dual.
Weiser walked away with a score of 75-12.
“This was a good night for some to get in a match, but for a lot of these young men it is difficult to work as hard as they do in the wrestling room and not be able to wrestle. Those who wrestled, wrestled well tonight,” said coach Drew Dickerson.
Senior Night
Weiser then hosted three teams Wednesday night for senior night including Tri-Valley, Mountain Home, and SRV rival, Parma.
Senior night is always a fun night to wrestle in front of your home crowd and get some well-deserved recognition.
Weiser has seven seniors who have wrestled for most of their lives, starting out in the Weiser youth wrestling program and making their way up to the high school level.
These seniors include: Elijah Carter, Dillon Houser, Max Kingsbury, Boone Ksiazek, Eric Torres, Kooper von Brethorst, and Justin Williamson.
Some of the junior varsity boys got a chance to get some matches in during exhibition with Tri-Valley and then the varsity dual with Mountain Home was on.
Mountain Home is a 4A competitor, but once again as the Wolverines have seen all season, Mountain Home was unable to fill all of the weight classes. Weiser received six wins by forfeit and won the dual 74-9.
 Individual results were:
98 pounds: Billy Nevarez won by forfeit.
113 pounds: Rafael Delgadillo won by fall.

Weiser then faced Parma. Parma gave up five forfeits to the Wolverines and only recorded one fall for the evening ending the dual in a 71-6 loss to the Wolverines.
The Wolverines had some great matches including Jace Buescher, winning by fall in just 14 seconds and Eric Torres, going into overtime and pulling out a 5-4 win on his senior night.
Weiser also recorded four additional falls for the night by seniors Elijah Carter, Max Kingsbury, Boone Ksiazek, and junior Rylee Willet.
To round out the evening both Kooper von Brethorst and Maddox Stevens won by major decision.
“I am definitely proud of my team tonight,” Head Coach Drew Dickerson said. “These guys work their tails off and show up every day and to come out this powerful on senior night and make a statement to their competitors is just awesome. These young men and especially the seniors have set the tone for the season and I can’t wait to see what they do next week in districts,” Dickerson said.
