Weiser places third in Snake River Valley meet

The Weiser Wolverines played in their first Snake River Valley 9-hole golf tournament on Monday, March 29 at Scotch Pines Golf Course in Payette. The wind was much calmer than the windstorm and gusts that had rolled through the night before.
 Carter Williams led the Weiser boys varsity team earning the  top medalist honors with a one under par score of 35. Devyn Young finished with a 47, Levi Estes and Rilee Willet had 55, and Calvin  Clapperton a 63.
 The top three boys varsity teams finished within nine strokes of each other. McCall took first with a team score of 183, Fruitland in second with 186, and Weiser in third with a 192.
 The McCall varsity girls team took first place with a total score of 246, followed by Payette with 258, and Weiser’s girls placed third with 273.
 Senior Gabi Palmer was low scorer for the Weiser girls varsity with a 60, Jasi Yraguen and Elle Svedin both came in with 69, Paige Johnson with 75, and Isabel Rodriguez a 82.  
 The next SRV tournament was held on Monday, April 5 at TimberStone Golf Course out of Caldwell. At the time of printing no scores were available.
